Head Coach Message

Welcome from KCC’s Head Coach:
Hank Leandro

Returning paddlers,
welcome back and mahalo for your loyalty to Kailua Canoe Club.

Newcomers,
we hope that you enjoy your time with us.  You have found the perfect place to make new friends, to work hard, and to have fun.  A club rich in island history, we are a club made up of many crews that paddle with passion, excellence, and a common love for the ocean.  We strive to represent the values represented by the word Aloha.”

We are fortunate to have an outstanding coaching staff at KCC, the most passionate and dedicated coaches you will find anywhere.  The coaches are expecting you to start the season in good shape, so get on your OC-1, start your run/swim workouts, get in the gym, and come ready for a successful season.  This year the state championships will be in Hilo, Hawaii, and we are counting on all crews to qualify.  With your hard work and determination, I am confident we can achieve that goal.

Our Board of Directors, headed by President Debbie Solis, have worked hard over the winter, planning events and tuning up our canoes and equipment to provide you the best paddling experience possible. We hope you will also keep an eye out for ways you can contribute this season to make Kailua Canoe Club even stronger than we were last year.  It takes all of us, many hands, to be successful.  Come and be a part of that success.

We are Kailua Canoe Club:

“Pa’a ka waha hana me ka lima”
(We allow our  actions and our paddling to speak louder than our words)
