2010 Dash & Splash
About the Dash & Splash Biathlon
Participants run 2.8 miles around the Lanikai loop and then toss off their running shoes and jump in the water for an 800 meter swim from the boat ramp to the finish line at the beach park! Each year this event is well attended by Kailua families and other families through Oahu.
We get a tremendous amount of support from the community with exciting donations and prizes. This is really a fun event for the Club and we look forward to you either entering or volunteering for the event this year. Remember, it is great training to get ready for the regatta season.

About Kailua Canoe Club
In 1971, KCC was the vision of two coaches and about 50 paddlers who had been paddling with the Kailua Hawaiian Civil Club (KHCC). Those two paddlers were Jimmy Marciel and Cliff Ornellas. This tight-knit group of paddlers purchased the koa canoe "Kalanakila" (Victorious) from KHCC, bought a canoe trailer and a fiberglass training canoe affectionately called the "water wiggle". Cliff and Jimmy researched and adopted the petroglyph paddleman (our club logo), chose blue and gold as our club colors and Kailua Canoe Club was founded. (read more)
